I hardly hiked in Washington and BC this year as my heart was full from Tour do Mont Blanc in July, and I chose to spend most weekends cycling or running with friends instead of walking in the mountains. It was a lifestyle change to wake up very early on a weekend morning to go on a run or bike ride after 3-4 years of setting those same alarms to go on hikes. I liked it enough that I will follow the same pattern moving forward: fewer hikes and backpacking trips and more long runs and longer bike rides. Still what was lost in quantity this year was still made up for in quality, as you can see in the following pictures from a summer backpacking trip to Panorama Ridge, BC and fall hike to Carne Mountain, WA.
